Iggy And The Stooges ~ Tight Pants  (2:05 ~ 1972 )

In June, 1972 The Stooges were in London, where David Bowie was to produce their third album, Raw Power. Since Funhouse , the band had added James Williamson on lead guitar, pushing Ron Asheton to bass. Iggy and James, now the group’s creative nucleus, were writing some truly savage new songs. The demos, including  “I’m Sick Of You”, “I Got A Right”, “Scene of the Crime” and “Gimme Some Skin” were duly submitted—and rejected. “Tight Pants” survived to be rewritten as “Shake Appeal”. But the other songs were consigned to obscurity, while the band went on to write a whole album’s worth of new material, which eventually came out as Raw Power. Years later, the master tapes were acquired by Bomp and as a result, you are able to hear these historic recordings.
